What is Liquid Facelift?
What do you think ages our appearance the most? Is it wrinkles and lines? Spots? Sagging skin? In fact, it is a combination of all these factors. However, the key cause of sagging, lines, and wrinkles is volume loss.
As we age, we lose fat in our faces. Fat plays a major role in filling out the skin, helping it appear smooth and elastic. Of course, fat loss is not the only factor. Collagen loss, which begins in our 20s, also occurs in our skin. Additionally, muscle loss, though minimal, also contributes to the aging process. All of these factors lead to an overall decrease in facial volume.
A liquid facelift is a procedure aimed at rejuvenating the face and creating more dynamic and attractive facial features. Injectable fillers, typically made from hyaluronic acid, are used to restore lost volume in areas that have experienced volume loss.
By filling the areas with volume loss, sagging skin can be reduced, and sagging or hollow areas can be reshaped, resulting in a lifted appearance.
How is Liquid Facelift Performed?
The liquid facelift procedure is quite simple and comfortable. No surgical intervention is required, and there is no long recovery period. The patient can return to their daily routine immediately after the procedure.
Before the treatment, the patient is thoroughly examined by a doctor. The skin is cleaned under hygienic conditions, and a numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. After the cream is applied, the patient waits for approximately 15 to 20 minutes for the skin to numb. The fluid is then injected into the targeted areas using fine needles. The procedure is pain-free and has no discomfort.
The procedure does not negatively affect the patient’s quality of life. After the treatment, the patient returns for a follow-up visit about a week later, during which any necessary touch-ups are applied. During this period, the patient should avoid excessive or strenuous exercise.
Is Liquid Facelift a Permanent Treatment?
The longevity of a liquid facelift depends on the materials used and the technique applied. However, the results typically last between 1.5 to 2 years. A liquid facelift effectively restores the volume the skin has lost over time, providing a youthful and more beautiful appearance.
