Fillers

Why Do We Need Fillers?

As we age, the support function of the fat pads in the facial area decreases. The reduction in collagen causes volume loss in the skin, leading to sagging and the formation of wrinkles. Fillers applied to the facial area help restore lost volume and moisture. These treatments can be performed not only for anti-aging purposes but also to enhance areas of the face that may be anatomically imbalanced, even in younger individuals.

Hyaluronic acid is the most commonly used filler material. It is injected into the problematic areas under the skin using small needles. The gel-like consistency of hyaluronic acid increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture, providing density and volume.

What Are Fillers Used For?

  • Filling fine and deep wrinkles on the face
  • Plumping and contouring the lips
  • Adding volume to the cheeks, chin, eye area, and temples
  • Smoothing deep scars caused by acne or other factors

Where Are Fillers Applied?

  • Nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and mouth)
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Under-eye hollows
  • Sad smile lines at the corners of the lips
  • Lip contouring and volumization
  • Cheek and chin volumization
  • Eyebrow lifting
  • Nose deformities and lifting the nasal tip
  • Adding moisture to the skin

Fillers can also be applied to areas with tissue loss or asymmetry for any reason.

How Long Does a Filler Application Last?

The effects are noticeable immediately after the procedure, and they improve over time as the filler increases its moisture retention capacity. Depending on the molecular weight of the filler used, the duration of the effect varies between 6 to 18 months.

How Long Does the Filler Procedure Take?

Filler applications typically take between 15 to 30 minutes. You can resume your daily activities immediately after the procedure. There is usually no pain at the application site, but mild swelling or redness may occur. These effects typically subside within 1 to 2 days.

What Should Be Done After a Filler Application?

It is advised to avoid visiting saunas or steam rooms and engaging in intense physical exercise on the day of the application. Those who have had lip fillers should refrain from alcohol consumption for 3 days and avoid consuming very hot or cold beverages for several hours after the procedure.
