What is Lip Filler?
Lip filler is one of the most popular non-surgical aesthetic procedures used to achieve fuller lips, define the lip contours, and create a more symmetrical appearance. The procedure is performed using non-permanent dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid, allowing for natural-looking, fuller lips in a short amount of time.
How is Lip Filler Applied?
Lip fillers should be performed by an experienced doctor who has a good understanding of facial anatomy. Prior to the procedure, an anesthetic cream is applied to numb the lips completely. Non-permanent dermal fillers with a soft texture and cross-linked hyaluronic acid are used. A 1 ml (one tube) dose of lip filler is injected into the previously determined areas of the lips, just beneath the skin. The procedure is virtually painless due to the numbing effect, and the injection process takes about 5-10 minutes. The desired volume increase in the lips is immediately visible, and the final volume depends on the amount of filler used during the procedure.
What is the Duration of Lip Filler Effect?
The average duration of lip filler effects is about one year. Over time, the hyaluronic acid in the filler is absorbed by the body, causing the lips to return to their pre-treatment state.
The duration of the effect may vary depending on factors such as the person’s age, lip shape, lip elasticity, the properties and amount of the filler used, and individual factors like physical structure, lifestyle, and environmental conditions. After the initial procedure, subsequent lip filler treatments may result in longer-lasting effects.
What Should Be Done After Lip Filler?
- Avoid using any cosmetic products on your lips on the day of the procedure.
- Hydrate your lips well with the recommended creams.
- Start performing the suggested massages the day after the procedure.
- For the first 4 hours after the procedure, avoid chewing hard foods, consuming hot meals or drinks, rubbing your lips, or kissing.
- Do not apply lipstick right after the procedure.
