Non-surgical Eyelid Aesthetics
What is Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics?
Factors such as age, stress, sitting in front of the computer for long periods of time, and gravity cause the skin on your eyelids to sag and may limit your angle of vision.
There are various treatment options available for patients suffering from sagging eyelids. If the patient has severe sagging, surgical treatment may be more appropriate. However, if the sagging is mild or moderate, non-surgical eyelid surgery is possible. With Plexr eyelid surgery, we can provide an effective solution to these problems.
If there is excess skin on the eyelid, we correct the aesthetic appearance with the Plexr treatment, and if there is no excess skin, we correct the drooping eyelid with a lift application.
Non-surgical eyelid aesthetics are performed with plasma energy therapy. Using the plasma-powered Plexr device, the procedure works by vaporizing the epidermis, the uppermost layer of the skin. After the epidermis evaporates, the remaining skin contracts, removing excess skin without surgery.
Who is the Application Suitable For?
It’s generally performed on people over the age of 35, when signs of aging begin to appear on the eyelids. However, non-surgical eyelid surgery, which can be performed on anyone with medical needs, has no age limit.
While non-surgical eyelid surgery can be performed on anyone with excess eyelid skin, it may yield more effective results in those with thinner skin. Because increasing skin thickness can reduce the effectiveness of the procedure, the decision regarding whether to perform the procedure should be made by the doctor on a case-by-case basis.
Plasma energy therapy cannot be applied to pregnant women or people with open wounds or infections in the application area.
What Should Be Considered Before Application?
You should not use blood thinners, painkillers or alcohol for 1 week before the procedure.
How Long Does the Application Take?
After local anesthesia, the procedure takes approximately 10-45 minutes, depending on the size of the area.
What is the Process Like After Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics?
After plasma energy therapy, swelling and crusting occur in the application area. The amount of edema varies from person to person. I recommend using herbal anti-edema medications to accelerate the healing process. The application area should be cleansed with a neutral soap with a pH of 5.5 and should not come into contact with any products containing alcohol.
Crusts that form after the treatment should not be covered with any tape or plaster. The tissue evaporates and forms a scab, falling off within an average of 7 to 20 days.
During the healing process, we recommend applying a thick layer of tinted sunscreen to protect the treated area from the sun and artificial light. Before going to bed, cleanse the area with neutral soap, avoiding rubbing. Do not apply any therapeutic or moisturizing creams or ointments unless directed by your doctor.
Will There Be Any Scars After Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics?
As long as the original Plexr is used, there will be no scarring after non-surgical eyelid surgery. However, the time it takes for the discoloration in the treated area to fade may vary from person to person. It’s crucial to consistently use tinted sunscreen to ensure this period progresses quickly and healthily. This period may be slightly longer for dark-skinned individuals or those with zinc or iron deficiencies. We also recommend zinc-containing creams for some patients.
How Long Does It Stay Effective After Application?
Although this period varies depending on personal factors (sleep patterns, eating habits, smoking and alcohol consumption, frequent infections, medications used, sun exposure, and drinking less water), it is effective for 2-5 years.
