Nose Filler
What is Nose Filler?
Nose filler is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure for individuals who are dissatisfied with the overall appearance of their nose and where small adjustments can achieve the desired result. It is used to fill in gaps in the nasal structure to achieve a more lifted, symmetrical, and harmonious look with the face. The filler material used is typically hyaluronic acid.
Nose filler is an aesthetic procedure, not a medical one. It does not address breathing difficulties caused by bone deformities or issues such as a deviated septum. The procedure has an average duration of 1 to 1.5 years, and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to perform. After the procedure, patients can return to their daily activities immediately.
When Can Nose Filler Be Applied?
Nose filler is not effective in correcting all types of nasal shape irregularities. Whether nose filler is suitable for an individual is determined through a doctor’s examination. The conditions where nose filler may be applied include:
- Depression in the nasal bridge
- Mild asymmetries in the nose
- Low nasal tip
- Small indentations in the nose
- One side of the nose being more sunken than the other
- Minor imperfections following surgical rhinoplasty
How is Nose Filler Applied?
The process starts with a thorough examination and planning with the patient. The areas of the nose where the patient has complaints are identified, and the filler is strategically applied. An anesthetic cream is applied to the skin of the areas where the filler will be injected. After ensuring the area is numb, it is cleaned with an antiseptic solution. The filler, typically hyaluronic acid, is then injected into the targeted areas beneath the skin. After the procedure, light redness and swelling may occur, which is normal and temporary. The patient can resume normal activities immediately.
What Should Be Done After Nose Filler?
- Avoid touching the nose immediately after the procedure.
- Refrain from heavy activities during the healing process.
- Avoid sports that could harm the nose.
- It is advised to avoid hot showers for a certain period.
- Do not consume coffee, alcohol, or caffeine.
- Avoid direct sun exposure.
- Stay away from hot and humid environments such as steam rooms and saunas.
- It is crucial to attend follow-up appointments as recommended by the doctor to ensure a successful result and monitor healing.
